Andrew’s Senior Session at Libby Hill Park

There’s something about Libby Hill Park that makes it such a great location for senior pictures in Richmond. Between the city views, historic architecture, brick buildings, and industrial Richmond backdrop, there are so many different looks within one area—and it works especially well for a senior who wants photos that feel casual and relaxed.

Andrew’s Class of 2027 senior session was exactly that.

For his casual senior pictures, we kept everything simple and natural, letting Andrew be himself rather than making the session feel overly posed or formal. His laid-back wardrobe worked perfectly with the urban setting and gave his gallery a modern, timeless feel.

One of my favorite things about photographing seniors at Libby Hill Park is how unmistakably Richmond the images feel. The Lucky Strike smokestack, city skyline, old brick buildings, and views from Church Hill create a backdrop that’s interesting without taking attention away from the senior.

And that’s always my goal with senior photography: the location should add to the story, but the senior should still be the focus.

Casual Senior Pictures in Richmond, Virginia

Not every senior wants a dressed-up or elaborate photo session—and they don’t need one! Casual senior portraits can be some of my favorites because they feel so much like the person at this particular moment in their life.

Andrew’s session is a perfect example. Comfortable clothes, a great Richmond location, and plenty of room to move around resulted in senior pictures that feel natural, confident, and completely him.
