Newborn Sessions

The first few weeks with your baby pass in a beautiful blur — these portraits help you hold onto the tiny details a little longer.

Each newborn session is designed to be calm, natural, and completely relaxed, creating timeless images in a peaceful studio setting. With over 14 years of experience and more than 1,300 newborns photographed, every session is thoughtfully guided with your baby’s comfort and safety at the center.

Sessions are baby-led, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and settling so everything unfolds gently and without rush. I focus on clean, simple styling and soft, natural posing to create images that feel effortless and never overdone — keeping the attention where it belongs: on your new little one.

Two session options are available, depending on the level of variety you’d like in your final gallery.

For the sleepiest, most curled-up portraits, sessions are best scheduled within the first 2–3 weeks after birth, though older newborns are always welcome.

FAQs

  • Every stage of the newborn phase has its own kind of magic. Babies photographed between 7–14 days old tend to be sleepier and more flexible, making this timeframe ideal for classic, curled-up poses. Sessions at 3–6 weeks capture more alert expressions, gentle stretches, eye contact, and early glimpses of personality. There is no “too late” for newborn photos — just different moments to document.   • When booking prior to your baby’s arrival, please select a session date 10 days after your due date. Once your baby arrives, your session date can be easily adjusted as needed.

  • All newborn sessions take place in our Short Pump studio and are scheduled Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Sessions typically last 1–2 hours, allowing time for feeding, soothing, and comfort.

  • You don’t need to bring much. We recommend bringing extra feedings (or being prepared to nurse), diapers, wipes, and a pacifier if your baby uses one. All props, wraps, outfits, and styling items are provided. Parents are welcome to bring a sentimental item if desired, though it’s never required.

  • At this time, we do not offer in-home newborn sessions. We do offer weekend sessions when our schedule allows.

  • Yes. We provide all props, wraps, hats, headbands, and backdrops needed for your session. Each setup is thoughtfully styled to align with your preferences and create a cohesive, timeless look.

  • Yes, parents and siblings may be included in images taken at the beginning of your session. We recommend keeping clothing neutral and simple for a cohesive look. Additional guidance is provided prior to your session.

  • We recommend simple, neutral clothing with minimal patterns or logos. Soft tones photograph best and help keep the focus on your baby.

  • Every baby is unique, and while not all newborns will comfortably settle into every pose, our sessions are always guided by your baby’s cues. You’re welcome to view our posing guide to see examples of the poses we offer.

  • This is completely normal. Newborn sessions are unhurried and allow time for feeding, soothing, and comfort. We always follow your baby’s cues and adjust the session as needed.

  • Your online proofing gallery will be delivered within 14 days after your session. Ordering instructions will be provided once your gallery is ready.
