Sweet Kolbie! This beautiful girl was an absolute dream for her newborn session, and I love how her gallery came together.
For this setup, we used deep, earthy greens with delicate feminine details—a combination that feels rich and timeless while still keeping all the attention on Kolbie. Her tiny floral headband was the perfect finishing touch.
As a Richmond, VA newborn photographer, I’ve always believed that newborn portraits don’t need elaborate sets or lots of props to be beautiful. My style is clean, simple, and focused on the things you’ll want to remember most: those tiny features, sweet expressions, and just how little your baby once was.
A Baby-Led Approach to Newborn Photography
Every newborn who comes into the studio is different, which is one of the things I love most about this job. After photographing more than 1,300 newborns, I can confidently say that babies tend to have their own plans for photo day—and we happily work with them. 😉
My newborn sessions are baby-led, with comfort and safety always coming first. We allow plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and settling and move through poses and setups based on what each baby is comfortable doing.
That relaxed approach allows us to create a beautiful variety of images without rushing your baby—or new parents!
